Adair County Health System

The Adair County Memorial Hospital renovation and addition was completed in September 2008. Our Grand Open House was held in October 2008. We are very excited to occupy the new and updated areas.

The west wing upper level consists of 13 patient rooms with full bathrooms. We are a 25 bed facility. The family practice clinic once located on the public square now occupies the lower level of the addition. Administrative offices and 3 meeting rooms are also located on the lower level.

Several areas on the upper level of the existing building have been affected by the upgrade.

The in house hospital pharmacy has been relocated to a larger area to comply with upcoming code changes. The pharmacy is not a retail pharmacy.

The laboratory has been relocated and enlarged to provide space for today’s equipment. All of the laboratory functions are now performed in one area.

Radiology services are now located in a centralized location. Ultrasound, mammography, CT scan and x-ray all have separate rooms.

The emergency rooms are now located adjacent to the nurse’s station and patient care area. We now have a private ER room and a trauma room that can accommodate two patients.

Our specialty clinic area has now been expanded to five exam rooms. This allows for a more efficient process if you are here to see one of the specialty clinic physicians.

The waiting area with our wall of healing is located adjacent to the registration area. Patients waiting for lab, radiology and specialty clinics use this area.

Remodeling of the lower floor has included the expansion of medical records workspace and storage for records and a corridor along the south end of the kitchen which allows passage along the lower floor without entering the food preparation area.

Entrances

After Hours: After business hours all patients and visitors have to enter through the emergency room doors. After 9:00 pm a button in the entry way will be used to alert the nurses on duty that you require entrance to the facility. This is done for safety reasons.

During business hours: Entrances that can be used by the public during business hours include the following:

z Registration entrance – located on the north side of the building

z The main entrance – also known as the business office entrance on the south side of the building

z Administration – this entrance gives quick access to the administration offices

z Family practice Clinic – use this entrance if you have an appointment with one of our regular providers.

z ER entrance – enter here for emergency care
