Adair County Health System is more than just a hospital. We have family practice clinics, specialty clinics, home care and public health services along with paramedic level ambulance services. We provide all of these services to ensure that everyone gets the care that they need close to home. These services are supported by Adair County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Adair County Health Foundation.
Adair County Health System is committed to the philosophy that it has an obligation to provide those it serves with the best possible care through the best available resources. Also, ACHS has an obligation to be responsive to the health care needs of the county and to provide those services needed.
This philosophy is based upon the respect for the dignity and worth of each individual. ACHS believes that each patient and his or her family have the right to receive effective care provided in an individual manner considering physical, psychological, spiritual, economic, and rehabilitative needs.

From the time Adair County Memorial Hospital opened in 1950, the Hospital has provided health care services to area residents, friends, and family members. Our original hospital opened with 27 beds offering the services of obstetrics, a nursery, surgery, inpatient care, lab and x-ray along with supporting services of dietary, laundry, maintenance, pharmacy, and administration. In the 1970’s, the Hospital was expanded to include space for an emergency room and radiology. The East Wing was opened in 1988 providing space for physical therapy and an ambulance garage. In 1995, an elevator was added and improvements to the physical plant were made. In the late 1990’s, the hospital acquired Adair County Home Care and Public Health services. The home care staff received an award for their quality care achievements and in 2005 and 2012 was named as one of the top 500 Home Cares in the nation. In 2000 Adair County Memorial Hospital obtained the designated as a Critical Access Hospital under the Medicare program. In 2008 a large renovation and addition took place with the help of community members and grants. The Adair County Medical Clinic was added onto the current hospital along with state of the art inpatient rooms. Additionally the existing building was remodeled and Cardiac Rehab was added as a service for Adair County Memorial Hospital.
